Series and Race Day Awards
The Only Series Where You Get To Personalize Your Award!
We are continuing our tradition of being the only race series that lets you personalize your race day awards. Award categories and prizing details are listed below.
2012 Adult Series Awards Categories
New in 2012!
Triathlon ELITE AGE GROUP & PRO Series Cash Awards
Overall Series Awards will be presented to the top FIVE athletes who place in the Top 5 at individual races and have accumulated the most points based on the following criteria:
- In order to be eligible for a series award you must have competed in and completed at least FOUR MSC Triathlon Series races (excluding Give-It-A-Tri and Duathlon).
- The total points will be tracked based on your four (4) best races. i.e. If you compete in six (6) races only the best four (4) races will be used for the Series Points Award.
- Points will be awarded based on race day results.
- There is no age group restriction.
- On race day ALL ELITE AGE GROUP athletes will have the option of starting in their respective age group wave or in the First wave with the Pro athletes. Athletes wishing to move to the first wave must received prior approval by email. To obtain emailapproval and confirmation, please email admin@multisportcanada.com. Include: Elite Age Group Request in the subject line of the email, Race Name, date where you competed with the finish times in the table below.
- Athletes wishing to compete in the Elite Age Group & PRO category must provide proof of having completed races in the following times:

- Athletes competing in this category WILL NOT be eligible for Age Group Awards (see below).
- Points will be awarded as indicated in the chart below
Winners of the Elite Age Group & Pro Triathlon Series will receive the following cash prizes:
- 1st - $1,000
- 2nd - $750
- 3rd - $500
- 4th - $250
- 5th - $100
Triathlon, Duathlon and Give-It-A-Tri AGE GROUP Series Awards
Series awards will be presented to the top three people in each Triathlon and Duathlon age group who have accumulated the most points based on the following criteria:
- In order to be eligible for a series award you must have competed in and completed at least FOUR MSC Triathlon Series races of the same type (Triathlon, Duathlon or Give-It-A-Tri).
- The athlete with the most total points will be deemed the Series Champion for that Age Group.
- The Top 3 athletes in each Age Group will receive a Series Award.
- Points will be awarded based on race day results.
While in some cases the race day awards might be given in 10 year increments, the Season Awards will be in 5 year increments.
TIE BREAKER - A tie for any Series Awards in an individual age group will be broken as follows:
- Total times for the races in which both athletes competed head-to-head.
- If athletes did not race head-to-head at any race then the Tie Breaker race will be in Lakeside. (If this race is sold out room will be made for any athlete involved in a Tie Breaker).
- The athlete awarded the most points at Lakeside will be declared the Series Champion for the respective age group.
Our year end awards day will be held in November.

Points Distribution
New this year! Points will be awarded as follows and there will also be a bonus for the fastest OVERALL Swim, Bike and Run for each race.

What Does Your Award Look Like?
Age Group winners will receive a medal on race day as well as a personalized finishers picture courtesy of Mike Cheiak Photography. The Personalized Awards Picture will contain:
- The picture of your choice from race day
- Your name
- Your time
- Your age group
- The race logo and the Series logo
MultiSport Race Day Photo Award
Claiming Your Award
After each race you will receive an email from My Sports Shooter with your coupon code. If you were a recognized winner in your category on race day your coupon will be worth $10 off any purchase. The MultiSport Award is a $10 digital product which is available either plain or with your stats.
1. Visit the race gallery or just click on the handy link to your photos
2. Select the photo(s) you want and order the product(s) you would like
3. Check out using your coupon code
4. If you want stats, add them in the Comment Section at checkout (Age Group, Finishing Time and place)
5. The coupon must be used within one week of issue, no exceptions

On race day award winners will be recognized for their accomplishments by receiving a medal plus they will also be receiving a 5 x 7 personalized finishers picture. See details above.
For races with over 150 registered two (2) weeks prior to race day will have medals and pictures for the top three (3) finishers in 5 year age categories. Races with under 150 registered two (2) weeks prior to race day will have medals and pictures for the top three (3) finishers in 10 year age categories. Age Group Birth Date Information
Adult age in a category is based on your age as of December 31, 2012.Triathlon Kids age categories are based on your age as of December 31, 2012.

You've Been Shot!
Formerly known as the Shot of the Race, we are now awarding the My Sports Shooter "You've Been Shot" award at every race. This could be anything from someone in the crowd cheering everyone on to an athlete gutting it out to the finish line. The winner gets a full resolution download ready to print at 8x10! Its a fantastic keepsake so remember to smile, ham it up, gut it out or cheer for your favourite athlete! You MAY just get Shot!
Triathlon Kids Participation Medals
Each child will receive a Participation Medal. In the spirit of participation there will be no Age Group Awards for children's events.
